Two weeks of Industrial training
in the area of 
"Python, R, MD Simulations, NGS data analysis & Genomics"

September 15- 30, 2021

In this internship, we will provide basics to advanced training of Python, R, and Small molecules Molecular docking, Interaction analysis, Network Biology and Genomics by the reputed faculty members around the globe. After this internship programme, participant will be perfectly ready to start Master's degree/PhD/Postdoctoral research in the area of Bioinformatics, Genomics and Big data analysis, and other related techniques like Molecular Docking, Interaction analysis and Network Biology, NGS data analysis, and whole genome assembly & annotations etc. This internship programme will provide a platform for faculty and researchers to improve their skills by updating themselves with latest methodologies in the area. We will cover basics to advanced aspects of all the topics mentioned.   

 

Who can participate: Students (B.Sc./B.Tech/M.Sc./M.Tech), Research Fellows (Ph.D. fellows), Researchers, Faculty, Scientists, and Company Personals. 

Internship Logistics 

Last date of registration: September  13, 2021

Fee: Rs. 1000/- for Indian Participants, $20 (USD) for International Participants.

  • Participants must have access to the laptop/desktop with a stable internet connection. 

  • Participants successfully completing the internship will be provided with E-certificate.

  • The entire internship will be online and interactive.

  • We will provide the full recordings of all the internship sessions. 

  • We will provide the link (e.g. Webex) to join the training sessions.

September 19, 2021: (7:00 PM - 8:30 PM): Learn 'R' programming for Bioinformatics research.

September 20, 2021: (7:00 PM - 8:30 PM): Advanced training of 'R'.

September 27, 2021: (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM): Quality Control of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) datasets.

  • Basics of NGS datasets, generation and Quality Score.

  • Data handling and Filtering of NGS datasets, trimming etc.

  • Training of tools to filter the NGS datasets.

September 28, 2021: (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM): Whole Genome Assembly of a microbe with NGS datasets.

  • Whole genome assembly of filtered reads.

  • Quality check of whole genome assembly.

September 29, 2021: Practice Day

September 30, 2021: (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM): Whole Genome Annotation of a microbial genome.

  • Gene prediction in assembled genome.

  • Mapping of genes on pathways.
