Two weeks Hands-on training 
“Bioinformatics, Genomics, Machine learning, and Network Biology (BgmlnB)"
April 17 - 25, 2021

In this workshop, we will provide basics to advanced training of Linux commands, Python programming, R programming, Next Generation Sequencing data analysis (e.g. RNA-Seq data analysis to calculate the gene expression), Basics to advanced Machine learning techniques and their applications in the field of biological sciences, Basics of Network Biology and use of Cytoscape tool for Network analysis, and a very informative training session on Protein-ligand docking by using  Auto doc vina, and Ligplus. 

This workshop will be ideal for the candidates, who want to learn the basics to advanced data analysis in the field of Bioinformatics, Genomics, Next Generation Sequencing, Biological Networks, and Structural Biology. We will cover basics to advanced aspects of all the topics mentioned.   


Who can participate: Students (B.Sc./B.Tech/M.Sc./M.Tech), Research Fellows (Ph.D. fellows), Researchers, Faculty, Scientists, and Company Personals.

  • Introduction to Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence.

  • Types of Machine learning (Unsupervised, Supervised, Reinforcement Learning, Semi-Supervised Learning) and their Applications.

  • Advantage and Disadvantage of each type of Machine Learning

  • Pitfall in Machine Learning

  • Discussion on K-mean, logistic Regression and Support Vector Machine their application, method, algorithm.

  • Hand-on training on K-mean, logistic Regression and Support Vector Machine (using R)

April 24, 2021 (10:00 AM - 11:00 AM): Gene expression analysis with RNA-Seq data datasets-I

Certification and other highlights

  • Participants must have access to the laptop/desktop with a stable internet connection. 

  • Participants successfully completing the training will be provided with E-certificate.

  • The entire training will be online and interactive (16-20 Hours).

  • We will provide the full recordings of all the training sessions. 

  • We will provide the link (e.g. Webex) to join the training sessions, one day before the event.
