Two weeks Hands-on training 
of
“Bioinformatics, Genomics, Machine learning, and Network Biology (BgmlnB)"
April 17 - 25, 2021

In this workshop, we will provide basics to advanced training of Linux commands, Python programming, R programming, Next Generation Sequencing data analysis (e.g. RNA-Seq data analysis to calculate the gene expression), Basics to advanced Machine learning techniques and their applications in the field of biological sciences, Basics of Network Biology and use of Cytoscape tool for Network analysis, and a very informative training session on Protein-ligand docking by using  Auto doc vina, and Ligplus. 

This workshop will be ideal for the candidates, who want to learn the basics to advanced data analysis in the field of Bioinformatics, Genomics, Next Generation Sequencing, Biological Networks, and Structural Biology. We will cover basics to advanced aspects of all the topics mentioned.   

 

Who can participate: Students (B.Sc./B.Tech/M.Sc./M.Tech), Research Fellows (Ph.D. fellows), Researchers, Faculty, Scientists, and Company Personals.

Fee: Rs. 1000/- for Indian Participants, $25 (USD) for International Participants.

April 18, 2021 (10:00 AM - 10:30 AM): Biological Networks: Construction and analysis -I

  • Biological Networks - Properties and resources.

  • Network analysis tools.

  • Cytoscape - Introduction and installation.

April 18, 2021 (02:30 PM - 03:30 PM): Biological Networks: Construction and analysis -II

  • Analysis of Biological Networks using Cytoscape.

  • Apps and plugins for Cytoscape.

April 19, 2021 (06:30 PM - 07:30 PM): Basics of Immunoinformatics and Epitope-based Vaccine Design

  • Basics of Immunoinformatics.

  • Basics of vaccines.

  • Resources of epitope data.

  • Visualizing and predicting immune response.

April 20, 2021 (07:00 PM - 08:00 PM): Learn 'R' programming for Bioinformatics research.

  • Installation of R.

  • Basics of R and R studio.

  • Basic Data handling in R.

April 21, 2021 (07:00 PM - 08:00 PM): Machine Learning and Artificial intelligence -I

  • Introduction to Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence.

  • Types of Machine learning (Unsupervised, Supervised, Reinforcement Learning, Semi-Supervised Learning) and their Applications.

  • Advantage and Disadvantage of each type of Machine Learning

  • Pitfall in Machine Learning

  • Question and Answer session.

April 22, 2021 (07:00 PM - 08:00 PM): Machine Learning and Artificial intelligence -II

  • Discussion on K-mean, logistic Regression and Support Vector Machine their application, method, algorithm.

  • Demo in 'R'.

  • Question and Answer session.

April 23, 2021 (07:00 AM - 08:00 PM): Machine Learning and Artificial intelligence -III

  • Hand-on training on K-mean, logistic Regression and Support Vector Machine (using R)

  • Question and Answer session (10 to 15 Minutes)

April 24, 2021 (10:00 AM - 11:00 AM): Gene expression analysis with RNA-Seq data datasets-I

  • Introduction to RNA sequencing 

  • Data Preprocessing

April 24, 2021 (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM): Gene expression analysis with RNA-Seq data datasets-II

  • Mapping and Alignment

  • Transcriptome Assembly

  • Differential Expression analysis

April 25, 2021 (12:00 AM - 01:00 PM): Protein-ligent docking analysis by Auto dock vina and Ligplus

  • Preprocessing:Fastqc, trimmomatic

  • Alignment : STAR/HISAT2

  • Assembly: Stringtie/Cufflinks

  • Differential Expression: HTSeq, DEseq2

Certification and other highlights

  • Participants must have access to the laptop/desktop with a stable internet connection. 

  • Participants successfully completing the training will be provided with E-certificate.

  • The entire training will be online and interactive (16-20 Hours).

  • We will provide the full recordings of all the training sessions. 

  • We will provide the link (e.g. Webex) to join the training sessions, one day before the event.
