'Basics to Advanced modules in Multiomics data analysis'

April 14 - 30, 2022

This workshop is designed to provide hands-on training of different modules of Basic Bioinformatics (Python & R), Genomics, Machine Learning, Network Biology, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data processing, Microbiome data analysis, Protein Structure, and Molecular Dynamics Simulations. This event is specially designed for the beginners in the field, and very useful for the students ans researchers already working in the field.  

Who can participate: Students (B.Sc./B.Tech/M.Sc./M.Tech), Research Fellows (Ph.D. students), Researchers (JRF/SRF/RA), Faculty, Scientists, and Company Personals.

Last date of registration: April 12, 2022

Fee: Rs. 800/- for Indian Participants, $20 (USD) for International Participants.

Prerequisite for the workshop

  • Computer/Laptop with stable internet connection, and MIC.

  • Basic knowledge of molecular biology.

Certification and other highlights

  • Participants must have access to the laptop/desktop with a stable internet connection. 

  • Participants successfully completing the training will be provided with E-certificate.

  • The entire training will be online and interactive (16-20 Hours).

  • We will provide the full recordings of all the training sessions. 

  • We will provide the link (e.g. Webex) to join the training sessions, one day before the event.

  • Basics of protein structure

  • Understanding of PDB files

  • Proteins structure visualization

April 20, 2022 (07:00 - 08:00 PM): Learn 'R' programming for beginners

  • Basics of 'R' and 'R studio'.

  • Installation of 'R' and 'R Studio'

April 21, 2022 (07:00 - 08:00 PM): File and data handling in R with R-Studio

  • Basic data/file handling in R.

  • Graph preparation in R with R studio

April 22, 2022 (07:00 - 08:00 PM): Quality Control of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) datasets

  • Basics of NGS datasets, generation and Quality Score.

  • Data handling and Filtering of NGS datasets, trimming etc.

  • Training of tools to filter the NGS datasets.

April 23, 2022 (07:00 - 08:00 PM): Gene Whole genome assembly with NGS datasets

  • Basics of Whole genome assembly

  • Demonstration of whole genome assembly with short reads

  • Quality assignment of whole genome assembly

April 24, 2022 (07:00 - 08:00 PM): Whole Genome Annotations, and Gene annotations

  • Gene prediction

  • Whole genome annotation with PROKKA pipeline for prokaryotic genomes

  • Assigning the functions to the predicted genes
